About LASAK

From research to medical technology.

LASAK is a Czech medical technology company focused on the development, manufacture and sale of dental implants, bone implants and materials for bone regeneration.

Since its foundation in Prague in 1991, research and development have remained at the centre of the company. LASAK works with scientific institutions, universities and leading clinical specialists in the Czech Republic and abroad to develop new biomaterials and solutions for modern implantology.

Research, development and manufacturing are connected within one company — allowing new ideas to progress from material science to products used in clinical practice.

Founders

Built on research.

LASAK was founded in Prague in 1991 by doc. Ing. Zdenek Strnad, CSc. and Ing. Igor Riedl, CSc.

The foundation of LASAK followed years of research into new materials for artificial tissue and organ replacements. After the closure of the Sklo Union Research Institute, Zdenek Strnad and Igor Riedl decided to create a new centre where this research could continue — connecting scientific work with the practical development of new medical materials.

A researcher and specialist in silicates and glass-ceramic materials, Zdenek Strnad spent decades working in materials research, including international academic and industrial experience, before co-founding LASAK.

Ing. Igor Riedl, CSc.

A technologist and researcher with extensive experience in technical glass and materials science, Igor Riedl brought decades of research and management experience to the establishment of LASAK.

Research is where LASAK began. Innovation is how we continue.
